Traigo Canyon Grove
we walk thru Traigo Canyon
mountain hiking
listen to the stream tumbling
toward underground realms
laugh in the sunshine
hold each other close and
a tropical aura materializes
in the shade beside the brook
we sit here on sunspotted rocks
sharing orange wedges
scattering seeds via
aerial projection
into humid crevasses
along the slender bank
time evaporates in arid heat
orange trees are sprouting!
emerging trunks & leaves
at an accelerated rate
creating an interlude
for those who follow
the same path, offering tangy
sun-fruit to others
our orange grove
with welcome branches
stands rustling fragrance, even now....
