Lollipop Carooz
I
ballons of brite striped rainbows
look close, watch the man
torch the air hot
expanding molecular distances
while fans push heat
farther into the nylon envelope
start - fire - stop
repeat again
& soon the bubble
with gondola is floating
free on invisible currents & eddies

first the morning watch,
scouts searching for the sun.
have you seen the flames
make a globe lantern
as the tide of photons slowly rise?
that's the Dawn Patrol
then the Mass Ascension
of lollipop carooz
carries passengers with
a variety of headgear
into bluing sky
while onlookers buy pasta,
curios, pins
& patches to salve their wounds
from being grounded.
sometimes they take off at random
othertimes in formation
wave after wave go
turquoise sailing....
