Albuquerque Trails chase lizards in Sandia summer heat listen to you strumming fingers on guitar voice wavering feather soft defenseless against the desert sky. walking in the park lying in the grass I rub your back & neck caressing you head. we play the zither & sing Donovan songs drive to the eastern foothills that have no shape of feet tho they wear the prints of cycle treads, climb to the top of one sit on a pile of weathered stone & look across the Albuquerque valley rio grande green in humid vapor trails. later we sit on shaded boulder my fingers gently touching your closed eyes.
